Bu arastirma, Antalya kosullarinda hiyarda (Cucumis sativus L.) melezleme yoentemi ile yapilan tohum uretimlerinde bitki uzerinde birakilan tohumluk meyve sayisi ile tohum kalitesi ve miktari arasindaki iliskileri belirlemek amaciyla yapilmistir. Arastirma sonucunda bitki uzerinde tutturulan meyve sayisi arttikca, meyvenin capi, boyu ve agirligi gibi degerlerle, cimlenme hizi ve gucu ile surme hizinin azaldigi ve farkli sayidaki meyve uygulamalarinin surme gucune etkisinin oenemsiz oldugu saptanmistir. Denemede kullanilan hibrit cesidin tohum uretiminde tohum kalitesini dusurmeyen en yuksek tohum verimi bitki uzerinde 6-8 meyve birakilmasiyla alinmistir.
