Bu calisma Turkiye'de Saglik Bakanligi'na bagli devlet hastanelerinin etkinlik seviyeleri belirlemek ve bilgi sistemlerinin performansa etkilerini tespit etmek amaciyla yapilmistir. Calismaya buyuk ameliyat yapilabilen yuz yatak ve uzerinde yatak ile en az elli uzman hekim kapasitesine sahip 41 kucuk, 39 buyuk olmak uzere toplam 80 hastane dahil edilmistir. Hastanelerin etkinlik duzeyini belirleme yoentemi olarak Veri Zarflama Analizi (VZA) tekniginden yaralanilmistir. Girdi ve cikti degiskenleri, hastanelerin 2006-2007-2008 ve 2009 yili verilerinin ortalamasindan derlenmistir. VZA yoentemiyle toplam etkinlik (CRS), teknik etkinlik (VRS) ve oelcek etkinligi olmak uzere uc farkli etkinlik skoru hesap edilmistir.
