Mustafa Kemal, Kazim Karabekir, Ali Fuat Pasalar ile Rauf ve Refet Beyler 1919 yili Haziran ayinda Milli Mucadele'nin yol haritasini belirlemis, ayni zamanda bir yol arkadasligi sureci baslatmisti. Temelleri mutareke Istanbulu'nda atilan ve Amasya'da askeri bir oergut havasinda basladigi kabul edilen bu yol arkadasligi, kimi anlasmazliklara ragmen Milli Mucadele'nin son doenemlerine kadar devam etmisti. Zira fikri uyusmazliklar Milli Mucadele'nin birlestirici atmosferi icinde geri plana itilmisti. Zaferin ardindan baslayan yeni doenemde Mustafa Kemal Pasa'nin dusunduklerini hayata gecirmek suretiyle yeni bir toplum insasina baslamasi yol arkadaslarini da bir yol ayrimina getirmisti. Bu kitap hem yol arkadaslari oezelinde Milli Mucadele'yi hem de Milli Mucadele'nin oencu kadrosunun yol arkadasligindan yol ayrimina giden hikayesini ele almaktadir.
