Die Utopia des Thomas Morus erschien erstmals im Jahre 1516. Das funfhundertjahrige Jubilaum im Jahr 2016 ist Anlass zu einer Bestandsaufnahme anlasslich einer Tagung der Deutschen Gesellschaft zur Erforschung des politischen Denkens (DGEPD) gewesen, auf der die Bedeutung dieses Klassikers fur die weitere Entwicklung der Politischen Theorie im Verlauf der Moderne unter verschiedenen Aspekten, wie etwa der Abgrenzung zum totalitaren Denken, der Dystopie und der sozialistischen Ideologie vorgestellt und diskutiert wurde. Die hier publizierten interdisziplinaren Beitrage geben eine jeweils uberarbeitete und aktualisierte Fassung der Vortrage wieder.
