Sepp Dietrich

Thomas Fischer

Non-commissioned officer, Josef ‘Sepp’ Dietrich, commanded one of the premier tanks in the entire history of the First World War. As one of Hitler’s bodyguards, he took command of the first 117 Nazi volunteers on 17 March 1933, the kernel of the SS Leibstandarte, which would become a regiment, then a brigade, then a division. This album retraces the course of this officer, who would create an incredibly strong unit of men and would be commanding an entire armoured army corps by the end of the war. This is principally an album presenting more than 500 photos, largely previously unseen, accompanied by anecdotes from veterans of the Leibstandarte and by many documents signed by Sepp Dietrich. A document for history. Illustrated
