The volume brings together stories and other short fiction by Marie Mennessier-Nodier, daughter of Charles Nodier. These texts, unpublished in some cases, are for the most part devoted to couples, either in a historical context or in the author’s contemporary surroundings. They illustrate the difficulties, whether personal or societal, of having a romantic relationship.
