The Mentor is a book about a vow that was made by me when I was incarcerated and the system would not release me in spite of me being found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity. The book tells about my childhood, my family life, and tries to tell the story of what drove me to commit a crime spree. It tells about my stay at the Calcasieu Corrections Center for Women. The vow involves coming back to jail as a mentor to tell inmates how to survive what brought them to jail. The teaching of life skills and re- entry skills and encouraging inmates to read their bible.
