Mary also receives crucial guidance from several mystic sources: a portrait of a seagull named Sunshine, her mystical cat, Ra, and haunting supernatural visions. Mary’s rocky journey is forever altered by the discovery of a handwritten manuscript penned decades ago by her deceased paternal grandmother, Phyllis. As Mary begins to transcribe her grandmother’s story about a young farm girl named Ginger, a series of events lead her to believe that Phyllis had accurately foretold Mary’s future.
