Thomas Bell (1903 - 1961), born Adalbert Thomas Belejcak, was the author of five novels, including All Brides Are Beautiful(1936), which was made into the 1946 movie From This Day Forward, and his 1941 classic Out of This Furnace. His memoir In the Midst of Life - his account of his battle with cancer -- was published posthumously.
