After the Battle of Earth, the Confederation decides to look for the Lost Colonies. With no other ships as experienced in deep space missions, the now famous Cerberus is dispatched to explore and investigate whether the clues to their location were accurate. Ronin and Mueller also see the mission as an opportunity to escape their unwanted fame back on Earth and do something besides fight a war. What they found wasn’t what they were expecting.

They were hoping to be peaceful explorers and ambassadors to humanity’s children. Instead, they encounter a dangerous, volatile, dysfunctional society that erupted because of their arrival. The crew of Cerberus will need their wits, and an aggressive attitude, to see them through the situation. They’ll also need some good luck to survive.
