Uncommon Scents is a children’s story of a kind but bullied little Muskrat named Marvin. Of all the animals in the forest, Marvin Muskrat was the poorest. And he was the lowliest, and the saddest, too. All the other animals were smarter, swifter, and more courageous than he was. Leastways, that was what Marvin believed.
But was it really true?
One day, a strange creature appeared from the forest who possessed a new kind of power that Marvin had never seen before. With the help of this new friend, Marvin Muskrat was able to recognize that Muskrats also had powers and gifts, which he had always simply took for granted. This illustrated story, told in verse, is a tribute to all the bullied little critters everywhere–those with four feet, or six feet, or even only two feet.
