Back to Africa
Hugh Chare
It is 1977 and James Martin is offered the opportunity to go to South Africa and run the local subsidiary of James & Brown, the company he has worked for since leaving Zambia. He and his wife, Katrina, relocate to Johannesburg and start a life there amid the undercurrents of civil unrest brought about by the apartheid policies of the government.James seeks out new sales prospects and manages the local parts and service business, while navigating the peculiar world that was South Africa in the 1970s. He and Katrina do take time to explore as much of South Africa as they can. It is not Zambia, where they had lived once, but it is still Africa and for them it is good to be back.
