In this manual, I offer the reader (that’s you) a number of tricks for changing your eating behaviour. These tricks are based upon sound principles of behaviour. These tricks are easy to understand and very easy to use. Of course, breaking the rules which these tricks imply, is equally easy to do. So, it is really in the end all up to you to decide if you are going to be honest with yourself. I cannot help you with that potential problem. I can however offer you many hints and tricks which, if you are serious about taking yourself in hand and controlling your eating behaviour, will help you greatly. I call these ideas tricks because I strongly suspect that most of you will say, of most of these ideas, that they are obvious and anyone could think them up. You are of course absolutely right. These tricks are no more than common sense and the moment you read each, you will wonder why you did not think of doing that before.
