In the ephemeris pages that follow, the positions of the four Kuiper Belt Object (hereafter KBO) planets Pluto, Eris, Makemake, and Haumea, are given from 1900 to 2050, once a week at midnight on Sundays. The calculations are for Greenwich, England, and are based on the Swiss Ephemeris from Astrodienst, version 2.10, as of March 2021.

Although major feminine asteroid Ceres is also now labeled ‘dwarf planet, ’ she resides in the Asteroid belt and her meaning in Western Astrology is relatively well-known, so that she will not be part of this discussion. Also, while it is possible that other KBOs will eventually be named as planets, the IAU as of this writing has no plans to do so.1 The meaning of Pluto is well-known, so we will concentrate on these three new ones. Eris is of a size, density, and brightness to rival Pluto and has been shown to be quite significant in chart work. Makemake and Haumea are smaller, but still these four are the largest known Kuiper Belt Objects. In this Introduction we will provide evidence for the astrological significance of all three of these new KBO planets. After many years of study into these very interesting bodies as they relate to Western Astrology, I have been able to come to the conclusion that they are all quite significant in charts. My earlier research focused on Eris and resulted in the idea that this new outer planet represents a Feminine Warrior archetype in support of soul intention. This is related to life purpose, references deep inner values, and represents as well a dedication to principle that is so strong that it can border on the violent at times. All this has been documented in my book, The Tenth Planet, published by The Wessex Astrologer. Since the publication date of this work in the spring of 2015, the evidence along these lines continues to pile up, so that I am more confirmed than ever in this delineation. Over and over, I have found Eris to be incredibly powerful in both natal and forecasting astrology. In the first section of this introduction, I will share key example charts that testify to her astrological meaning.

Henry Seltzer presents to us, in addition to his most interesting and informative book on Eris, his current work on Makemake and Haumea, those other trans-Neptunian bodies named as planets. Henry has done this not only through his extensive studies as to their meaning, but also with an ephemeris for their positions through 2050, so that we as astrologers might make due experiment and come to integrate them (or not!) into our personal astrological system of interpretation.

-Alan Oken, author of Soul-Centered Astrology

Astrologers cannot fathom the meaning of new worlds unless we know where they are. With this ephemeris of newly-discovered planets, Henry Seltzer has opened that doorway for us all. He has also shared the results of his own profound research out there beyond the Neptunian frontier. For any astrologer on the cutting edge of our field, this volume is a mission-critical necessity.
