Two 17-year-old cousins, named Charles and Dru Roxenbury have just graduated from high school and will be going off to college to study law at the end of the summer. Dru travels from Promise to Los Angeles, CA, to spend a few weeks with Charles. At the beach, they met two 16-year-old girls that were the best of friends, Ashley Richards and Tiffany McKinley. Charles falls in love with Ashley at first sight and then he loses her. Charles rides back with his cousin to spend time at Dru’s home with his aunt and uncle. Nine years later, Charles discovers Ashley again.
