Lillibutts Australian Adventure
O'Rourke Maris
Following a dream, Myilly takes Lillibutt and Moana on a long adventure from Kakadu to Uluru. As they travel overland they face many challenges and meet the local people - including jackaroos, the Flying Doctor and children on an outback cattle station. They also meet crocodiles, brolgas, dingos, feral camels, kangaroos and snakes. Maris O'Rourke is a former Secretary for Education for New Zealand and the first Director of Education for The World Bank. This is her third Lillibutt story. All are illustrated by Claudia Pond Eyley, and are published by Duck Creek Press. Maris is also an accomplished poet and her first collection Singing With Both Throats was published by David Ling Publishing in 2013. Visual artist, painter, printmaker and film director, Claudia Pond Eyley recently completed a documentary on former Prime Minister, and current head of UNDP, Helen Clark, and has co-authored with Dan Salmon Helen Clark: Inside Stories, Auckland University Press (2015).
