The discipline of architecture is only starting to revise its understanding of the desert as tabula rasa, opening to concerns of desertification, advanced technologies, land dispossession and migration that convene in the desert.

Organized as a journey, following the steps of specific travellers, Exile on Main Street will examine a range of past desert practices from 18481957, unearthing excluded narratives and foregrounding the desert landscape as a space of multiple transitions.
