Chapters 1-4 of Book 1 focus on early pregnancies, address amongst other things the procedures and technicalities of setting up an ultrasound service in an early pregnancy and acute gynaecology unit. Topics covered also include Normal ultrasound recognisable embryonic and fetal development, Clinical indications for an early pregnancy ultrasound examination, The role of ultrasound in diagnosing the reason for the examination and The role of ultrasound in the management of such clinical conditions’. For each clinical indication, examples of the ultrasound findings are included.
Book 2 examines issues related to Acute Gynaecological cases. Chapter 5 discusses the normal anatomy and ultrasound appearances of the biological female pelvis and menstrual cycle. Chapter 6 addresses the clinical reasons for acute gynaecological referrals backed up by examples. Chapter 7 has 101 self-assessment questions for the practitioner or student using a case study approach while Chapter 8 provides the answers for the questions in Chapter 7.
