It also examines Stanley’s links with the cotton industry in the West of Scotland, in Lancashire and with the Dundee jute industry. Cotton was a global industry and Stanley Mills exported their products as far afield as India, North and South America, South Africa and Australia. This second edition has been considerably rewritten and expanded to take account of new research and new discoveries since it was first published in 2003.
