The essayists explore the arbitrariness of the millennium as a date for change but acknowledge the millennium as a discussion point for analyzing current problems as well as the rhetoric surrounding such topics as architecture, multiculturalism, futurism, hypermedia, the literary canon, English language, urban and suburban growth, public health, and environmental themes.
