"We cannot see where we are going. The road is unknown to us. There are deep ditches on either side. We do not always even know where we are going or what the purpose of life is. All we know is that to us ours is an unknown way along which we are obliged to travel prepared by time that is remorseless instead of having strong headlights to show us a safe way. We have two flickering candle lamps, and they represent faith and hope."
