Interrogation Day
George St.John Valentine
Unable to trust anyone after spending much of his time alone and without backup, undercover agent John operates a three-year mission which leads to his final and anticipated interrogation by the IRA.
Set in 1980s Belfast, the novel follows lone undercover agent John's recruitment, training, and deals with various Intelligent agencies such as the Russian GRU as well as infiltrating Irish paramilitaries. John must effectively operate an undercover mission without backup and unearth the inner workings of Intelligence agencies across the world.
The story details his hopes, patriotism, motivations set against the harsh realities of tradecraft, deception, and betrayal. It explores the normal relationships people enjoy, despite the dark world of violence, sudden death and constantly living in fear.
Interrogation Day is a gritty but comical eye-opening account of a brave, lone undercover agent.
