One year after failing to capture his devious arch enemy, Tate Randall of the Metropolitan Arts and Antiquities department receives a taunting message from the remorseless Narcissus. It heralds the dawning of a second brutal, murderous spree within the darker side of London's art world.

One by one, art thieves, forgers, and dealers fall prey to ruthless executions. Each victim endures insufferable torture before their bodies are over-painted to create a series of horrifying artworks that haunt the imagination.

As the body count rises, a series of enigmatic clues lead Tate and CID Inspector Harriet Stone to join forces again. Together, they embark on an intrepid chase through the capital's prestigious galleries, resuming their unrelenting pursuit of London's most notorious serial killer of recent years.
