Billy’s gran is in Peru, according to the postcards that arrive every month. Only Billy knows that his gran is really trapped in Ireland. Gran, who is now the fairy queen of the Magical Meadow again, must find the Merrow, the keeper of the Unspell Spell if she’s to break the spell that keeps her there.
In this sequel to Billy’s Search for the Healing Well Billy finds himself in strife when he joins friends Patsy, the leprechaun, and Ronan, and Tia, from the Magical Meadow, in their search for the missing Merrow. To add to their problems their old enemy Finbar the Rat Boy, has stolen the Merrow’s cloak, relieving her of her powers.
As well as being reunited with his old friends, Billy discovers new friends like the dithering Witch Whitely, and Fizard the reclusive Wizard, who both want to help in his quest. A fast-paced adventure with many twists and turns there are many surprises along the way including the discovery of a traitor amongst them.
Without her cloak the Merrow cannot grant his gran permission to use the Unspell Spell. Without her permission, Billy’s gran will have to remain a fairy in Ireland forever?
