Billie
Nicholson V. Morris
Billie didn’t have a troubled upbringing to blame for his flaws; he had accepted what he was and life was what it made him; he was unique in so many ways. We follow Billie through the highs and the lows, the funny, the strange and the outrageous on his journey into the unknown. He enjoyed music; he played rugby; he could drink like a parched fish at last orders, but he absolutely loved the company of women. His weakness for the fairer sex encouraged him on a determined mission of sexual exploration. As a younger man, Billie had led a charmed existence but a dalliance with a married woman, together with the boundaries exerted by responsible parenthood, curtailed Billie’s sexual ambitionsa ]if only for a whilea ]until, discontented, his inner daemon resurfaced. He resumed his sexual crusade, with the creatures he loved, but never fully understood with a renewed vigour and thirst for new experiences. Billie never intended to fall in love with his paramour, but fall in love he certainly did. Torn between two women, he chose his lover, but he could never have predicted the consequences taking that path would bring. The amiable peculiarity, that had earlier seemed so charming, would become his Achilles’ heel. Everything he thought he was, his enemies destroyed or tainted. Billie fought against his antagonists with all his being, but he was destined to succumb to the endless bombardment of lies, prejudice, hatred and bigotry. Broken, imperfect and vulnerable, Billie flew until he could run and fight no more. Alone, finally defeated, he looked death in the eye, eager for the solace that he hoped would, at last, be his. Will death save Billy from his torment?
