The poems in Selected Poetry have been influenced by English writings from the Anglo Saxon era to the twentieth century and works from ancient Greece and Rome. Some are aphoristic in manner. Some are about people, nature, and time. Also included are original translations of poems written in Latin, Italian and the Chinese of the Tang dynasty.
