Australians mark Clean Up Australia Day on the first Sunday of March each year. On this special day community groups and charitable organisations arrange events and activities to help clear litter from parks rivers beaches and neighbourhoods. Thousands of volunteers help to clean up and to learn about recycling. Australians celebrate or commemorate a number of special days throughout the year. These special days give us the chance to reflect on the past appreciate our lives and look to the future together.
