The once-mighty city of Ronia crumbles toward an abyss. Beset by enemies from without and upheaval within, its people are nearing despair. Worst of all, the goddess who once protected them vanished long ago.

The journey has taken Shada and her companions to worlds wild and unknown. When they enter the strangest realm yet-a tower so large that an entire kingdom dwells inside-discord and mutiny threaten to rend the company. A mysterious captor imprisons Shada, and her only hope may lie in utter surrender.
