Clotilde Desjardins Russell
The collected writings of Clotilde Desjardins Russell (1894-1970). Accompanying her husband, William F. Russell, on his many travels, Chloe Russell documented travel across Europe on the eve of WWII in 1939 and seven years later as the region began to recover from the wounds of war. In the 1950's she traveled to Rio and the Middle East. Fortunate to meet many significant people of the period, through her essays she processes events observed and people met. She was a keen commentator on style as well as politics and over time a budding sense of the importance of women's affairs began to emerge from her writing.
