Landslides and tsunamis add to the annihilation. Power and internet are knocked out to the entire American West. Hundreds of thousands die on the first day of the New World.

Slaughter County shooting-range manager Phil Walker knows things will never be the same. The former Marine is no stranger to tragedy, having lost his wife to cancer and his leg to a firefight. Phil establishes a secure camp for his family and friends.
