What Is Honor? To honor a person is to regard one’s self. Honor at Eight is a book based on actual events from a boy’s life growing up in rural Nebraska. This work reveals how an eight-year-old boy learns who he is and what it means to honor others through the example of an imaginative recluse. Jim meets Darryl on the first day of school and from the classroom, to the crawlspace of a house, this story flows from conversations between friends to intense interactions with very strong and peculiar personalities. A volatile gym teacher, an aggressive teenage boy, a medieval knight and a dragon are welded together to forge a boy into something more.
