Pharaoh Sol: 10 years on the run from everyday life is a selection of images, clothing designs and sketchbook pages from Sol Nte’s 3 year residency in Brussels, Belgium from 2015 - 2018. The title is derived from May 2017 marking the 10 year anniversary of Sol Nte quitting his 9-5 office job in academia to pursue a more creative life as an artist. The graphic art and fashion design contained in this book was developed for, and alongside, his Pharaoh Sol music project; a blend of space jazz, avant-garde experimentalism and noise/industrial music. This book will appeal to fans of graphic art in the context of cult music and streetwear such as The Boredoms, Sonic Youth, Damien Hirst, Supreme, Jeff Koons, Sun Ra, Richard Brautigan etc. Sol Nte has been making art, music, and words for the no-audience underground since the late eighties. With the exception of being included in a handful of exhibitions, dalliances with Fluxus in the nineties, and an extremely modest streaming revenue for his Pharaoh Sol free jazz albums, he is a refreshingly obscure unknown artist.
