Yet while many incidents are occurring back in Hampshire, war still is being waged on the Peninsula and Colonel Fitzwilliam is allowed to return home, on leave, while the conflict temporarily ceases. He journeys to Pemberly, in hopes of seeing Elizabeth and welcoming her to the family. Yet while there, he meets a new acquaintance: Kitty Bennet.
