Her mother encouraged her to ask whatever she wanted to know. This gave her confidence to do so. Her Mother made sure all her children had library cards and used them on a regular basis. Ladi Di still loves going to the library. Not only does she love being surrounded by books, going to the library, doesn't cost you anything. In this collection of poems are many tributes to her family and friends. Also, she has uniquely included tribute poetry to her written by others. She hopes you enjoy the poetry in this book and especially the love within will seep into your heart. Sylvia Dianne Beverly is an Internationally acclaimed poet, presenting poetry in London, England, at the Lewisham Theater. A collection of her work is housed at George Washington University's Gelman Library. Ladi Di is a founding member of the poetry ensemble "Collective Voices". Ladi Di celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Host Grace Cavalieri, reading on her show "The Poet and the Poem" at the Library of Congress Experience. Also, she is an alum of Poets in Progress with Poet Laureate of District of Columbia, the late Dolores Kendrick. Ladi Di is the proud Matriarch of her family, Celebrating Black History 2018, she and her family received posthumously for her Dad, a "Congressional Gold Medal" from the United States Marines. She is a Poet of Excellence in Prince Georges County 2020 and Literary Leader in Prince George's County 2022/23. Poetry is her passion. Instagram @lovepoet13
