Tomato sap was the worst.Of all the produce Carol had to harvest, tomatoes were bar-none the worst. So itchy and sticky and gross. Durga never believed her. She’d scold Carol about picking them too gingerly, but Durga wasn’t the one who’d be itchy for days afterwards.Seriously, hydroponics duty was her least favorite chore of all. Especially when she had to work with Durga. If growing didn’t also mean evolving, Carol would insist on being assigned with someone else. Maybe, if she was really lucky, Durga would evolve along with the tomatoes and leave her alone.Like Acid in the Gut is a short story of change, growth and realizing that you were wrong set on a generation ship far, far from home.
