Challenges for Today’s Living
William Powell Tuck
Challenges for Today's Living is not a commentary on 1 Corinthians. Instead, the book seeks to follow the thematic approach the apostle Paul used in his letter to the church at Corinth. Tuck explores at least ten of these themes and examines how they can be applied to the ways believers can serve Christ through the local church today and the challenges we face in daily life. Among these themes, he addresses our present sins, social and ethical issues, basic theological beliefs, guidance for worship and stewardship, and the quest for the high road in our religious journey.
William Powell Tuck, a native of Virginia, has served as a pastor in Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Louisiana, and as a seminary professor, adjunct college professor, and intentional interim pastor. He is the author of more than forty books including Lessons from Old Testament Characters and Star Thrower: A Pastor's Handbook. In 1997 he received the Pastor of the Year award from the Academy of Parish Clergy, and in 2016 received the Wayne Oates Award from the Oates Institute in Louisville, Kentucky. He and his wife, Emily, are the parents of two children and five grandchildren, and live in Richmond, Virginia.
