The world just didn’t have enough problems, especially for Judy Morris, lifelong citizen of New Hope City and part-time superhuman. She didn’t ask for much, but sadly, destiny had more than enough. Inheriting her emergent magic allowed Judy to go under the guise of the Sigil, a less-than-super super going up against annoying heroes who do less than the city needs and various villains who are out for blood. Among them, she finds herself regularly combating Magnanimous, ‘the Ferrous Defender’; world-class oversized Boy Scout, John Ivan McGrath, a cutthroat businessman with a volatile hold on the city; and Measure, a radical gang leader who retaliates against McGrath’s encroachment, to the inadvertent detriment of his community.

Even as tension brews in the streets of New Hope, so, too, does it brew in the other worlds. Strange happenings occur for Judy, and an odd divine intervention trips up her already-shattered life. As she grows to realize her potential as well as the implications of the world around her, Judy’s longing for a long-term justice in the city causes her to look deeper into a conflict she never wanted anything to do with. With her tech-savvy best friend, Lisa, and considerate aunt, Maxine, will she be able to bring the justice New Hope has needed, let alone survive the city?
