My Story tells the tale of a little Navajo girl who was raised on the Navajo reservation from the 1940s to now, who had endured the typical lifestyle of the Navajo traditional way of life alongside the progression of modern Western culture. She attended boarding school but later dropped out. She experienced family tragedies and alcohol abuse, which forced her to face her future with her five children alone.
