New Chronology Papers

Walter R Dolen

This book is a new chronology pertaining to the Middle East such as Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Israel, Persia. The study of chronology is very difficult because you must rely on historical sources that are fragmented and ambiguous. Secular or Biblical chronology isn’t as exact as some may think. Throughout this work we point out the difficulties. In part two (CP2) and part three (CP3) of this book we point out the major problems with secular chronology, and the many different dating methods used by cities, states and kingdoms over the centuries. In part four (CP4) we show the difficulty in determined the birth and death of Jesus Christ, which our modern reference dating system uses (BC/AD). When historians claim that such and such an event happened, you should take it with a grain of salt. There are many problems. Despite the difficulties, this book the, New Chronology Papers, is a Biblical chronology based primarily on the Hebrew scripture and secondarily on secular sources. We use the Bible as our main source of study because the Bible contains a chronology of about 4000 years and because the Bible has proven more trustworthy than secular sources. The Bible is full of old customs and an amazing amount of detail. It names cities, places, kings, nations, laws, and even dates, lots of dates. Myths do not contain vast amounts of detail. Many of the Biblical details have been confirmed in the last two centuries by archeology (see example see: Archaeology and the Old Testament, by Merrill F. Unger; etc.). In the New Chronology Papers we do our best to show that the dates of the Bible are the best source for evidence to help establish the chronology of mankind. Book is in 5 parts, with a long table giving details of each pertinent years, plus a link to a 6000 year table.

Expanded TOC: 7 pages of details; CP1: Chronology Introduction; CP2: Secular Chronology’s Problems; CP3: Methods, Chronology, Calendars, Absolute Dates, Chaos, and other Details; CP4: Chronology and Christ; CP5: Chronology Table (74 pages); Appendix (14 pages); Index (8 pages). Book is 232 pages in length.
