Variations on Lyons: Score & Parts
Variations on Lyons: Score & Parts
The tune Lyons first appeared in Gardner’s Sacred Melodies published in London in 1815. It is attributed to Franz Josef Haydn’s younger brother, Michael, since a number of pieces by both composers begin with this opening phrase. Today, the tune is found in hymnals worldwide with a variety of texts. An excellent ensemble for contest, concert, and worship. OMEA Class C.
