Shoulder Season
Ange Mlinko
Like the New Yorker said of her last collection, [Mlinko’s] intoxicating, cerebral poems display a unique sense of humor and mystery. Widely acknowledged by both critics and peers as one of the best younger American poets, Mlinko has also made a name for herself as a critic (notably in The Nation and Poetry magazine). In 2009, she received the Randall Jarrell Award for Criticism from the Poetry Foundation. Poems from this collection have appeared in high profile magazines like the Nation, New Yorker, and London Review of Books, as well as a number of poetics journals including Poetry magazine, Chicago Review, and Colorado Review.
