June Tyzack
June Tyzack
Classical musician June Tyzack began piano classes in the working class town of Burnie, graduated with a Music degree in Tasmania's capital city, Hobart and then flew to London to pursue post-graduate work focusing on piano and harpsichord. She arrived as an impressionable woman of 22 years of age, in September 1977. By the time June Tyzack returned to Tasmania in March 1980 she had been awarded a Licentiate and a Fellowship Certificate from the Trinity College of Music in London, had gathered knowledge and experience of a wide diversity of classical music in performance, and had established lifelong friendships with other musicians. This book, "June Tyzack Letters from London", presents excerpts from her correspondence during those years and shows her evolving approach and attitude to music. Those two and a half years of professional development provided the basis for a distinguished career.
