This is a story about the manipulation of a previously dedicated anaesthetist and academic, who has lost his will to live after the death of his family, to collude to dethrone the corrupt and vain director of his Anaesthetic Department. The Director had indirectly caused the death of a child and the suicide of the child's mother, when the mother delays seeking treatment for her daugther because she had recently been grossly overcharged by the greedy doctor. The manipulators are three mysterious characters who have travelled from New York City to Sydney to carry out the deed. Neither good nor evil, these characters aim to restore balance back to the medical world which is full of both dedicated doctors and, to a lesser extent, greedy and vain ones. Whether these characters utilized magic and hypnosis to assist them or whether they have supernatural powers is left up to the reader to decide. The novel is a combination of a supernatural mystery, a love story and an exploration of the best and the worst of the modern medical world. In ways it is similar to "THE MASTER AND THE MARGARITA." by the late Russian author Mikail Bulgakov. It will delight the reader while satisfying their curiosities.
