Making Spirits Bright
Wayne R Gregory
Marcie Maguire, a young school teacher, struggles to make ends meet in 1931 rural Pennsylvania. The Great Depression is threatening to take away all that is important to Marcie - her farm, her livelihood, and the two children she has taken in from the local orphanage. When three English sailors happen upon her farm, there is a glimmer of hope that they may be able to help. But the bank foreclosure is set for Christmas Eve, and it appears that only a miracle can save Marcie and her loved ones.
