Album de Cuba is a monumental and masterful presentation of more than 2,000 engravings, paintings and photographs that relate the history of the island of Cuba, from before the arrival of Christopher Columbus in 1492, over the spanish colonial times through the XVI to the XIX centuries, the republican era from 1902 to the 1958 and down to the violent closing of the republic in December of 1958. The author is a well known author of a dozen books on Cuban history. This is probably his best reference work for those interested in the engaging drama of Cuban history.
