In 1966 Jim Scott, aged 22, qualifies as a veterinary surgeon and lands the job of his dreams working in Kenya. Arriving in Kenya and knowing no one, he quickly makes friends. His work involves travelling in the arid areas of Northern Kenya, carrying out a wide variety of veterinary jobs, as well as doing some clandestine spying for the British Government. After a girl that he is fond of returns to England, he decides to learn to fly. This leads him into a seriously dangerous mission requested by his controller, the wife of the High Commissioner. When they eventually meet at a reception at the High Commission, it's a case of love at first sight. They go clandestinely together at day break to Nairobi Game Park and they are lucky to see two lions mating. Their torrid affair ends in tragedy. Jim survives, but will he be mentally as well as physically scarred for life? This is the first book of a trilogy. The second, 'Fiona', will be available soon.
