(pronounced po-em-tree) This book is a collection of satirical, whimsical poems from the young ingenuity of 16-year-old Jael Whitney. The poems in this book were written starting when the author was just 10, but the rhythm and language of the poetry have been said to be "on par with Prelutsky and Silverstein." The pen-and-ink illustrations in the book were drawn by the author. With a quick tongue and snarky wit, the author creates poems from subjects ranging from the sock monster to the socioeconomic implications of bacon. Children and adults alike will appreciate the poems in this book, as well as the delightful illustrations.
