Combined with a fascinating travelogue and many interesting anecdotes this book aspires to establish a bridge across the gap existing between people of similar ideas and principles, but who are separated by different religions, denominations or ideology and includes those who do not profess allegiance to any formal religious group. Acknowledging the need for tolerance and humility it sets out to establish a common ground for all men and women of goodwill who are active in the pursuit of their ideals, irrespective of the fundamental individual beliefs with which they happen to have been brought up or which they have acquired through personal experience. It does not set out to challenge the opinions and beliefs of others but rather to seek out areas of agreement.
