Britain 429 AD. Almost two decades have elapsed since Britain gained its independence from Rome. After initial devastation, people have begun to rebuild their lives. Family life continues as they make the most of their new circumstances. But there are still threats to their survival. Pict and Saxon pirates sail the seas, raiding unwary coastal villages, seeking gold and slaves; Anglian sailors cross the sea to settle; while Britain is still not immune from interference from the Roman Empire.
