In 1971, residents of the Birds Estate are shocked by a spate of killings in the local German Woods. Victims are found garrotted by cheese wire and it is evident to the police that the murderer has expensive tastes because an empty champagne bottle is usually found at the scene. The community carries on with its life amidst suspicion, until the Christmas Murder Night organised by the Residents association hosts more than they bargained for.
